Question. Advice needed!

SON OF A BITCH, MY HEAD HURTS.

Introduction.

I am writing this with shaking hands and bleary eyes so apologies in advance if it makes even less sense than usual. Also I think one of my kidneys has stopped functioning, so i may not make it to the end before I need to go for treatment.

Ok, movie reviews. This is going to waffle a bit so you may as well get a cup of tea now.

The Night.

Firstly, on the way over to her house she called me on my mobile to ask me if I'd pick up a bottle of wine.

"Sure," I said, "I was going to get one anyway."
"Good," She told me. "Because this one is nearly empty. Actually, can you get two?"

That's going in a screenplay at some point.

So I get there (This is 6.30pm by the way, and she is a HELL of a lot cuter than I remembered and also a bit tipsy) and we open a bottle of wine and settle down on the sofa. After chatting for a while she says that she wants to watch EastEnders and then we can watch the movie. Ok, no problem.

Halfway through EE's she gets a call from a friend and asks if I would like to go to the Polish bar in Holborn. Now, I've been there before and it's carnage, cheap vodka, cheap Polish beer (REALLY strong) and it's always packed and lively. So, of course, I said yes.

Her friends, two girls and a bloke (all Danish as well, oh yeah she's Danish by the way) are all really nice. We talk about Movies, Music, and Kobenhavn (I used to live there).

At this point I started to lose track of time but I think it was about 10pm when someone suggested we go to the cinema in Camden. "Ok, let's do it." I believe I slurred.

We saw "Closer", which by the way is a really good film. However, the experience is enhanced when you have a drunk Danish girl cuddling up to you. This is something you HAVE to suggest to your local Cinema manager.

I really enjoyed Closer which is strange because I don't like anyone in the cast normally. Maybe this is a case of really good writing, great cinematography and excellent art direction managing to elevate the performance of some frankly, in my opinion, average actors and actresses. Having said that, I think Natalie Portman was excellent in "Garden State". Opinions?

So, after the movie the other guys had to leave, or we lost them in the street, I forget what happened. But there was an Italian restaurant open, so we went for a meal as we were really hungry. (I hadn?t eaten since 11am and had drunk one hell of a lot). As far as I can remember we held it together in the restaurant but just to be safe I think I?ll keep a low profile in Camden for a while.

Night bus back to her place, always fun on a Friday night! Opened the other bottle of wine and sat down on the sofa.

[SCENE MISSING]

For real, I have no idea what happened next. But when I woke up this morning we were still sprawled all over the sofa with the Title Menu from ?The Butterfly Effect? DVD on the TV.

In Conclusion.

I didn?t get to see the movie I wanted to, but had a great night. I borrowed the DVD so I?ll watch it tonight. I'll let you know what I think later.

Next Week.

I?ll find three more things that I could do (film related) and throw it open to the floor. This is all in the interests of professional film research.

Right Now.

I'm still wearing last nights clothes, I stink, my hair looks like Don King's, I look like Don King, if you're looking for a cigarette in London you are out of luck because I smoked them all last night. It's taken my 90 minutes to write this. I think I'm dying or alcohol related organ failure and alcoholic cardiomyopathy. I've taken a fistfull of aspirin and Alka-Seltzer(TM) and I still feel like shit. Flat Coca-Cola has done nothing, this is a serious hangover. If I don't make it, you can all divide my DVD and Video collection between you.

So basically, you got so drunk that you don't know if the effort you put into that girl actually paid off?

That's silly if you ask me.

ps. My parents went to Closer the other day, and they hated it, said it was absolute garbage. Maybe it's aimed for folks between 15-30?

Well, she texted me about 5 minutes ago and I am seeing her on Sunday, so we'll see. However, I totally agree with:

In my defense, she was as drunk as I, so for all I know, her effort on me may have gone to waste.

Plus, as I said in an above post, I'm really not looking for anything with anyone right now, last night was just about having a good laugh and a night out. Ok, that wasn't the stated intention, but that's how it turned out.

I don't date. I don't make any effort to date.
